Scholar Shout-Outs:
DIBELS Testing: We are done with DIBELS testing and WOW! It has been AMAZING to see the growth in our reading skills throughout the year. I am SO impressed to see us reading like 3rd graders! Keep working hard and KEEP reading over the summer!
Didn't these littles sound like angels at our concert on Wednesday evening? I'm so proud of them. Thank you Mrs. Kaye and Ms. Weddle for the AMAZING work you do to help prepare our scholars.
Final Countdown: Have you heard about our balloon popping surprises? So far we've played BINGO, enjoyed using a marker all day, had a lesson outside, and we even earned a DANCE PARTY! Today we enjoyed (sugar free) popsicles for morning snack. Let's keep up the good choices and finish the year STRONG!
Kindness Matters: We had a good, LONG talk today about kindness and listening. These scholars know SO much about what it means to be kind and I hope we can continue the conversation!

Literature: We will read chapters 9 and 10 of Little House in the Big Woods. We will journey with the Ingalls family as summertime comes. We will learn how they collect honey and make cheese!
Math: We will review again next week, spending time on money, fractions, time, and graphs! Scholars have done such great work this year! This review weeks are so encouraging because we see so much growth!
History: Students will take a test on the Civil War. We will review topics and important figures including: Harriet Breacher Stowe and Harriet Tubman, the North (Union) and the South (confederacy), Lincoln, the Emancipation Proclamation, Generals Lee and Grant, Clara Barton and the Red Cross. Afterward we will introduce an exciting unit on early immigration in the US. I encourage you to share family stories about coming to the "melting pot"! The conversation is sure to get interesting.
Science: We will make COOKIE CELLS to learn about the parts of cells!
